The UCSF Anatomy Learning Center (ALC) provides training for health professions education programs for the University which includes 3,500 faculty, 2,100 health professions students, and 1,500 residents and fellows. Simultaneous classes, independent study, training and research often occur in the ALC. The Center is managed by the Office of Medical Education and works closely with the Willed Body Program to provide cadaveric training. The ALC is a 6,000-square-foot space that opened in 2012 with state-of-the-art architecture, featuring a 36-air-exchange per hour ventilation system, a multipurpose room, HD screens, energy-regenerating sinks, accessible power outlets, and floods of natural light. The main laboratory houses 32 dissection tables, a pre-room, and two locker rooms. Located on the 13th floor with views of Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, and on most days, the Golden Gate Bridge.
