Up to 20 hours a week, flexible

Responsibilities:

Supports the ALC technician, Center manager, faculty, and professional health education learners to in multiple areas of lab operations, including the preparation and coordination of: teaching and leaning activities, cadaveric materials, program cirriculums, learner interfacing, and a clean and compliant Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory.

Cleans and maintains laboratory space, which includes mopping, cleaning gurneys, and returning cadaveric specimens to their respective spaces.

Assists with chemical waste management by replacing carboys as they fill.

Washes goggles, tools, and trays in between lab courses.

Monitors ALC laboratory equipment and is a steward of its cadaveric specimens. Maintains cadaveric materials to ensure they are properly cleaned, stored, and sealed. Notifies personel of any inappropriate use of equipment, specimens, or space.

Consults with program coordinators to ensure proper course support.

Scans packing slips and assists with receiving and organizing deliveries.

Actively participates in exemplifying UCSF’s mission and PRIDE values.

Required Abilities:

High self-motivation, self management, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work under supervision.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and, written communication skills with the ability to work in teams and individually.

Working knowledge of MS office applications.

Ability to work with cadavers, cadaveric specimens, chemicals, and biohazardous materials.

Preferred:

Experience with cadavers or cadaveric specimens.

Experience in a BSL-2 laboratory setting.
