Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds

CARES Act / HEERF I

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law on March 27, 2020. All awards from this first round of funding have been distributed to eligible UCSF students.

CRRSAA / HEERF II

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) was signed into law on December 27, 2020. Financial Aid awards began disbursing funds to eligible students on April 28, 2021.

ARP / HEERF III

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) was signed into law on March 11, 2021. More information will be published as soon as updates become available from the Department of Education.

International Students

International students should not complete the FAFSA, but instead should submit the International Student Application for Federal Student Emergency Grant Awards application, created for the purpose of assessing financial need. There is no other application necessary.
