Disability Resource Center Program Assistant - Work Study

$30 an hour

The Disability Resource Center Program Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director of Disability Access and Inclusion and works in consultation with the Chief Accessibility and Inclusion Officer. This position is scheduled for approximately 10-12 hours per week, with some evening hours and remote work-from-home flexibility. The position requires a few hours per week in person at our Parnassus Heights location. This position runs from September 2024 to June 2025.

In this role, the intern will: 

  • Support Assistant Director with programmatic and logistical tasks for DRC events. 
  • Review the www.disability.ucsf.edu website and document edits needed, content errors, update resources needed, etc.  
  • Research and identify disability-related educational materials that focus on education, health, community, activism, leadership opportunities, and more. 
  • Collaborate with the Resource Center interns on a social media strategy to bring visibility to our work.  
  • Assist with data tracking, developing surveys, and program evaluation.  
  • Provide partial staffing coverage of the Resource Centers at Parnassus during open hours (M-Th 9AM-5PM). 
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings and pre-approved professional development opportunities. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications 

  • Full-time enrolment in a graduate degree program at the University of California, San Francisco 
  • Work-study eligibility 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Former experience in Student Affairs, intercultural work, disability advocacy, or social justice programming.
  • An understanding and commitment to supporting disability communities, intersectionality, anti-racist and social justice frameworks.
