$30 an hour

Approximately 5 hours per week during the academic year with flexibility around academic and professional obligations.

The Career Outreach Peer role involves a commitment of 3-5 hours per week, reporting to Anna Reeves and Lydia Erickson from OCPD. Responsibilities include:
1. Outreach (75% of time):
- Staffing OCPD’s Career Carnival at Parnassus Student Food Market.
- Minimum of 4 one-hour flexible shifts per quarter, focusing on promoting career and professional development among health professional students.

2. Video and Newsletter Editing (55% of time):
- Monthly rotating Lead and Content Editor roles for the monthly newsletter.
- Tasks include editing interviews into short clips and conducting Zoom informational interviews with senior professionals for newsletter content.

3. Alumni Outreach Marketing (5%):
- Promoting content on UCSFConnect, featuring alumni interviews and newsletter clips.

4. Professional Development Projects Aligned with Your Career Goals (25%):
- As you explore careers, find mentors, network, and develop competitive application materials, you’ll be paid to document your journey to help future students.
- This can include everything from creating preparation timelines, informational videos or social media content, etc.

Position Requirements
- Work-study eligibility verified by Financial Aid.
- Availability for bi-monthly Career Carnival 1-hour shifts.
- Excellent organization, self-management, and time management skills
- Impeccable attention to detail, and persuasive writing and interpersonal skills  
- Proven aptitude for collaboration and leading teams
- Thoughtful and upbeat community building mindset

- Interest and skills in innovative uses of technology for engagement and content creation
- Tenacious creativity and authentic interest in written and video content creation, and editing
