This role requires a commitment to social justice, the ability to manage multiple specialized projects, and a collaborative approach to working with students, faculty, and staff. The DIO Student Coordinator will also work closely with the Associated Students of the School of Nursing (ASSN) to enhance engagement and support student activities. The role follows a hybrid work schedule, approximately 10 hours per week & will be compensated $30/hour.
Duties include supporting the following activities:
- Collect and analyze data from surveys, databases, and public records to inform DEI initiatives.
- Assist with programming for nursing students, including workshops, seminars, and events.
- Draft and manage content for the SON DIO newsletter, including soliciting and editing submissions.
- Collaborate with ASSN and other student organizations to promote and implement DEI initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate mentorship programs connecting students with faculty, alumni, and professionals.
- Support peer support networks to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Develop and distribute informational materials, including toolkits, scholarships, and career resources
Qualifications:
- UCSF student (in good academic standing)
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working with and/or working knowledge of historically excluded and/or disadvantaged communities
- Former/Current experience in student activism & leadership, intercultural work, or social justice programming
*Required Qualifications:
- Enrollment in a graduate degree program at the University of California, San Francisco.
- Work-study eligibility
