Prevention Education and Social Media Engagement Intern Position (Work-Study)

10-12 hours per week

Job Description:

  • This position is mostly remote, however it may require assistance at a few in-person events.
  • Oversee social media and outreach for the CARE Program, as well as develop prevention education workshops related to racial justice, discrimination, harassment, interpersonal violence, bystander intervention, support resources and other related topics on campus. 
  • Assist with managing all CARE social media profiles, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
  • Co-develop social media content, graphics, flyers and other forms of outreach to promote programs, events, campaigns, and CARE services.
  • Develop and repost engaging content using Canva.
  • Assist in developing and presenting tailored prevention workshops focused on creating a culture of healthy communication, prevention education of interpersonal violence, anti-racism education and harm reduction.
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with the facilitation of peer-to-peer workshops and other events.

Required Qualifications

  • Full-time enrollment in a graduate degree program at the University of California, San Francisco
  • Work-study eligibility

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Sufficient understanding and working knowledge about social media
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A firm understanding of interpersonal violence, intersectionality, anti-racist and social justice frameworks
  • Previous or current experience in student affairs, intercultural work, violence prevention, or social justice programming
