This position will primarily involve working in the SEP Daly Ralston Resource Center. The Resource Center provides a foundation for all SEP programs. It supports high quality science teaching and learning by providing access to science materials, informal lesson consultation with science educators, and is a nexus for educators to meet and talk about their science teaching/lessons. On an annual basis, Center materials contribute to enriched science learning experiences for more than 15,000 students and hundreds of K-12 teachers and scientist volunteers visiting the Resource center to discuss upcoming lessons and borrow materials.
Job duties and Responsibilities:
The Resource Center Assistant at the UCSF Science & Health Education Partnership (SEP) involves a commitment of 8-20 hours per week within the workday (8 am to 6 pm) during the 2026-2027 academic year. Schedule is flexible and can be dependent on other academic responsibilities.
The primary responsibilities of the Resource Center Assistant will be to support the day-to-day operation of the Resource Center. Responsibilities will include supporting Resource Center staff with managing all aspects of the circulation of materials in the center (this includes checking materials in and out, inventorying returned materials, repairing or replacing lost/broken materials, restocking depleted consumables, placing reserves on items and organizing the reserve queue, and recalling overdue items); communicating with patrons through email and phone messages; and offering guidance for scientist volunteers and SFUSD teachers on their science lessons and materials usage.

Position Requirements
