The Student Coordinator serves as a bridge between student feedback and institutional action by helping OOE identify student needs, assess gaps in resources and programming, and support the development of initiatives that enhance student engagement, belonging, and success. Working closely with the Associated Students of the School of Nursing (ASSN), faculty, staff, and student organizations, the coordinator will help ensure that student voices are reflected in programming and engagement efforts.
The role follows a hybrid work schedule and is expected to work approximately 10 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Program and Student Engagement Support
- Collaborate with OOE and the Associated Students of the School of Nursing (ASSN) to support student engagement initiatives and activities.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing workshops, events, and programs that respond to identified student needs and interests.
- Support outreach efforts that strengthen student participation, community-building, and engagement across the School of Nursing.
- Organize and facilitate mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities for students.
- Develop and distribute student-facing resources, including toolkits, scholarship information, wellness resources, and professional development materials.
Communications and Outreach
- Draft, edit, and manage content for the OOE section of School of Nursing newsletters and other communications.
- Assist with management of the OOE email account and related outreach efforts.
- Communicate program outcomes, engagement opportunities, and resources to students and campus partners.
- Support dissemination of assessment findings and program impact reports.
Assessment, Data, and Student Advocacy
- Assist with the administration and tracking of climate, engagement, belonging, and program evaluation surveys.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data from surveys and assessments to better understand student experiences and needs.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities emerging from student feedback and assessment data and translate survey findings into actionable recommendations.
Examples may include:
- Identifying student-requested resources, services, or programming opportunities through survey findings.
- Supporting the development of initiatives that address documented student needs.
- Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of implemented programs and engagement efforts.
- Participate in assessment and action research projects that support continuous improvement and student success efforts within the School of Nursing.
Administrative and Project Support
- Support multiple specialized projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Maintain organized records related to events, assessments, communications, and program outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to advance OOE priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Current UCSF student in good academic standing.
- Enrollment in a graduate degree program at the University of California, San Francisco.
- Work-study eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic experience working with survey platforms such as Qualtrics.
- Basic experience with data analysis software such as R, SPSS, Excel, or similar tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively.
- Experience working with or supporting diverse student populations and communities.
