Midwifery Mentoring & Belonging (MMB) Program Specialist (Graduate Work Study)

$30 an hour

8-10 hours per week; Summer Quarter 2023

Who should apply: Students who qualify for the Federal Work Study program for Summer Quarter 2023.

Responsibilities

  • Attend regular meetings for the planning, support, and coordination of various aspects of the project (improving recruitment and application support, mentor/mentee recruitment process, mentor/mentee match process, dissemination of program learnings, event coordination, etc.)
  • Support the facilitation of communications w/ program participants, stakeholders, and partner organizations via multiple modalities: social media, web page, newsletter, listserv, consistent with related UCSF policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required abilities and dispositions

  • Commitment to amplifying BIPOC voices and building BIPOC community.
  • Enthusiasm for the goals of the Midwifery Mentoring and Belonging Program.
  • High personal motivation, self-management, and an ability to work under supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfort utilizing social media tools such as Instagram, specifically as an education tool.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Working knowledge of design tools, such as Canva.
  • Comfort with using Zoom and other interfacing communication tools.

Preferred additional qualities

  • Previous experience creating social media content for educational projects/programs.
  • Previous experience leading project communications.
  • Previous experience as a mentor and/or mentee.
