Track Your Loans

For Your Existing and Current Federal Student Loans

To access your federal student loan information, visit the National Student Loan Data System: nslds.ed.gov.  Click on Financial Aid Review and use the same PIN number that you use when you apply for the FAFSA.  NSLDS will provide you with the most current loan servicing contact information in addition to your loan balances, interest rates, and current status of your loans.  Click on each loan number to determine your specific loan's servicing information.  After you identify your loan servicers on NSLDS, create a login account on your servicers' websites to proactively monitor your loans, including updating your contact information, downloading deferment forms, paying off your accrued interest, monitoring your enrollment status, and researching repayment and deferment options.

UCSF Campus Loans

UCSF campus loans (Perkins, University, Loan for Disadvantaged Students, Health Professions Loan, Nursing Student Loan) are serviced by UCSF Student Accounting and ACS.  Please log onto ACS to proactively manage your UCSF campus loans.  For deferment inquiries, please contact your Student Accounting representative.

Other Loans

If your loans are not on NSLDS or ACS, you may want to pull your credit report by visiting www.annualcreditreport.com.  You may access your credit report for free through one of three credit reporting agencies:  Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax.  Pulling your credit report more than once per year per agency may lower your credit score so pull your score sparingly.  Private loans and other loans not listed on NSLDS will most likely be listed on your credit report.  Many students use their credit report as a check and balance for periodically monitoring and managing their student loan (and other) debt.
